Interview With: Wallace Briggs

 1) Welcome to All Book Reviews! In 2020 you were awarded by "Story Monsters". What can you tell us about it? The award from "Story Monsters" for my first published story, "The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey", was one of the greatest, most unexpected accolades I have ever received for my writing. I must have thought, 'I've cracked it!' If only a writer's path to success was that straightforward. Jimmy Crikey's story had been formulated almost forty years earlier. It came about by necessity: to entertain a group of four or five young friends whom my four-year-old son had made during an English seaside holiday, almost fifty years earlier. Caught in a shower, the friends sought shelter in our beach tent, and their boisterous games continued in the crowded confines. I was under pressure from my wife, Pat, to control the noise levels.  "How?", I asked. "Tell them a story or something." For the first time ever I made up a stor...

Book Review: The Adventures of Jimmy Crickey: The Emerald Lake by Wallace E. Briggs

In the 4th book of "The Adventures of Jimmy Crickey" series, Wallace E. Briggs continues the story of the young alien with a brand new adventure at "Roombelow". Jimmy Crickey, who moves from his home planet "Attalia" to the Earth, takes out a challenging quest, in order to save the Emerald Lake, along with the four witches, Lord Oron, and other guardians of the Earth. In the green lake, where the Aquamites and their leader live, there exists a dangerous enemy: water serpents coming from the bottom of the lake, threatening the Aquamites and their home. So, Jimmy and the rest of the group begin searching for some spell to kill these strange creatures, and protect the Aquamites from any danger. They take a very hard quest, and run into many challenges. The hero of the story is Jimmy, a young alien who helps others, and finds the right way to save his friends from any threat that could come across them. He's a good representation for all the children who...

Book Review: Silver Stripes On Lavender Letters by Jean-Paul Haddad

In his debut poetry book, Jean Paul Haddad, a Lebanese author, introduces himself through poems and proses, that reflect his sad and happy days, his deep thoughts and his true feelings. "Silver Stripes On Lavender Letters" narrates love, friendships, relationships, remembrance, and many other memories, which the author has undertaken in the last couple of years. Also, the author expresses his own views upon success, justice, and modern life. In one of his poems, Haddad emphasizes the beauty of nature as a getaway place to relax and be free, away from the crowded cities. Other poems and proses illustrate how the author sees himself, his character growing up from childhood, and all the stages he's been through, to the present time: how he looks at things in different perspectives and different sides. Even more, the book contains different images taken by the author himself: pictures of natural landscapes in Lebanon, flowers, sculptures, and many more. These images capture...
